Convert MXF files to 1080p Apple ProRes MOV for FCP X editing and QuickTime playback

I have a lovely new Canon XF100 and it generate MXF Files. However when i tried to import these HD MXF videos to FCP X for editing, the iSight runs when i click the camcorder button on FCP X. After searching and consulting,I noticed that there is Canon XF plugin for FCP7, but Canon XFP plugin doesn’t work for FCP X.

MXF file format comes from like Canon XF300/XF100, Panasonic HVX200/HPX300, Sony EX camera, etc. It is not compatible with many programs just like Apple Final Cut Pro. So convert mxf file to FCP mov video is a necessary step to do if you want watch your video from your camcorder which export mxf file.
And we know that Apple ProRes 422 , Apple ProRes 4444,introduced in Final Cut Studio, was advertised to one of the codecs to result in less compression and higher data rate/higher quality files for HD editing in Final Cut Pro X.

I have .mxf files from my new Canon XF100, when I take the MXF files to Final Cut Express to be edited, I failed. After searching google, I need a program to transfer the recorded files MXF files into something FCE can recognize .

The Canon XF100 supports the highest HD quality with Full HD 1920×1080 resolution with Canon XF codec, up to 50Mbps bit rate and 4:2:2 color sampling. If you would like to edit the recorded .mxf video on iMac with FCE, you need convert the MXF files to AIC MOV which is the free and useful part of the Apple Mac iLife.

I use Canon 5D Mark II recording mov files.I used iMovie to do the original edit but found it was very poor with some under-exposed video I had so I’ve moved to Final Cut Express which is able to process the video much better. I found though that reading the Canon 5D Mark II mov files directly into FCE meant an immediate render was required but that by converting all the mov files first in AIC makes rendering unnecessary.(Canon EOS 5D Mark II enables video recording with 1080p MOV. )

Why we love the Canon PowerShot S95? Particularly because it not only delivers spectacular photos, but also lets you record video in beautiful high definition (1280 x 720 pixels). The camera also makes it easy to enjoy HD videos and still photos on your HDTV. It’s great that the Canon S95 can shoot in 720 HD but when loading the H.264/MOV videos for editing, many new users get involved in issues like load error and momentary glitch. This is because the HD MOV clips are encoded in H.264 codec, a most advanced codec that compresses video in highest compression ratio, but not so acceptable for editing software such as Magix Edit Pro, Sony Vegas, and Adobe Premiere. Generally speaking, editing software prefer AVI, WMV, MPG to H.264 encoded MOV, MTS, TOD footage.
