It will run on an Apple. everything is plug and play, you do not need to load any drivers. use the provided USB/Firewire cable from your camera, and plug it in, on your desktop it will show a white Portable drive, labeled Sony, Camera or something of the sort. Another fine example of Apples claim to run anything a PC can! If Apple doesnt make a driver for it, you are SOL. You might check the cam mfgs website to see if they have a Mac driver.
I’d love to do what Doogie Howswer did: keep a computer diary of my day. Is there any programs for Mac that do just that? I don’t necessarily want to post these online.

Not really, the only thing you can do is to go into the preferences and change the order of preferred networks.
If you are using apple airport routers, you can always set them up so that one of them is a range extender of the first (effectively giving you one wireless network) and eliminating the problem

Since you did not mention what version of mac you are using and if it is running on intel or powerPC, I am unable to suggest directly
If you are using a newer version of mac that runs on intel platform, you can use boot camp and install windows to it. (Expensive if you buy but your website will work 100%)

Microsoft stopped developing Internet Explorer for Macintosh years ago.
You could download and set up a virtual machine in something like VirtualBox. You run an entire Windows (or Linux, solaris, etc. PC inside your Mac).
You could also try running IE in CrossOver (which is a port of WINE).
Firefox might do the trick for you and will be simpler.
No IE will not become your only web browser, not will Firefox for that matter (if you decide to go that route).
While it is novel, ies4osx appears to be not much more than a cool toy. I installed all four versions of IE that were offered, and they all ran extremely slow. I tested the software on a Mac Pro, which should not have trouble running any sort of application, especially not a few aged Web browsers.

Running ies4osx will be useful for testing the occasional site, but it is not very practical for heavy use. I suppose that doesn’t really matter though — who would really want to use IE on a Mac anyway?

Rode videomic is $120, that leaves you $30 to do as you please, (I would buy a decent pair of headphones and use them to plug in to the camcorder so you can hear what your camcorder is picking up!) There is one more thing you will need if you plan on getting a minidv camcorder, that is a firewire cable. Your computer probably has a firewire port, but you will need a wire to hook you camera to the computer, (the wire is sold with the camcorder). For this specific camcorder you would want a 4pin to 2pin firewire. That is what I would do though… will a little more info on what you have I could come up with something that would suit your needs more specifically….
